Hello, I am Marta and I’m a destination wedding and event planner from the Italian Riviera.
My journey in the events world started in 2015 in New Delhi during an internship at a renowned luxury firm, where I was assigned a market research project on the Indian wedding industry. From that moment I had the opportunity to work between Italy and India, immersing myself in the intricacies of the wedding industry and forging connections with its key figures: from wedding planners and designers to catering experts, from magazine journalists to hotel managers.
Life then beckoned me to my childhood dream city, London, where I embraced a new role in Talent Acquisition for some of the world’s largest multinationals. It was here that my dedication to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion further flourished, influencing the very lens through which I view and craft each event today.
This career shift never dimmed my passion for weddings and I persevered obtaining a diploma in wedding management from the prestigious Global Wedding Accademy by Wizcraft MIME, Mumbai. And in India, weddings are a big deal!
That’s when my own brand, Koinai Events, started to take shape.

Koinai: Catalyst for Celebrating Diversity
The term Koinai (read ‘Koinè’) refers to a form of Greek language that developed during the Hellenistic period to become a lingua franca (bridge language), extending from the Mediterranean Sea to the Gandhara region.
Derived from the Greek word “common”, koinè was not tied to a specific region but evolved as a standardised version of the Greek language to facilitate communication among people from different linguistic backgrounds.
To me, Koinai serves as a metaphor for fostering inclusive communication and collaboration among diverse individuals. It symbolises the idea of bringing people together from various backgrounds, much like the ancient language facilitated communication across a broad geographical area.
The name reflects the essence of my mission to create events that unite and celebrate diversity, emphasising the richness that arises when different voices come together in harmony.
Just as Koinè Greek played a crucial role in the diffusion of Hellenistic culture, my company aims to be a catalyst for the celebration and understanding of cultural diversity in the modern world.
